The Line

Old, poor, cheap, solemn, diligent, tasty, slow, loud, … how do we draw? In this course, the focus is on the “how,” less on the “what.”
And what do we draw with?
Materials are explored; the contact between surface and medium guides us. Slowly, a new world emerges from the act of doing. We use self-made brushes, pens of all kinds, chalk, charcoal—anything that leaves a trace—right up to cords, threads, and whatever else you can think of. Experimentation is the order of the day.
Participants are asked to bring their own materials—anything that can be used to draw lines. Accommodation must be arranged independently; tips for lodging are available via the Academy or from me.
Important
For Trier, do not wait until the last minute—workshops will be removed from the program one month before the start if there are not enough registrations.
